Micaeli Rourke is an American writer and journalist currently living in Stellenbosch, South Africa. She holds a BA from Emerson College and an MA in Journalism from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg. Micaeli maintains quite strong opinions about the importance of printed newspapers, strong handshakes, political trivia, and her first love– musical theater.
In 2015, she began working and living abroad and very quickly became reacquainted with herself while splattered against a blank canvas of a foreign land. Kind Eyes and Strange Places was born from the most integral and life-affirming part of her travels–the strangers whose kindness made her feel at home along the way.
